Ashenwood by Kit Kemp for Chelsea Textiles

Through her website "Kit Kemp's Design Thread", interior designer and creative director of Firmdale Hotels Kit Kemp gives her advice on how to create a contemporary yet inviting feel at home. One of the best ways to achieve this is by using textural fabrics like "Ashenwood" to create interesting interiors.

"‘Ashenwood’ is one of my recent fabric designs created with Chelsea Textiles. This embroidery is made by hand using English wool and feels very bespoke and individual. It is called ‘Ashenwood’ after an area of the New Forest where we walk our dogs."

New London Showroom and Fabric Collections Launch Party

Pimlico Road Shop

Mona Perlhagen and Jenny Simpson threw a party to celebrate the launch of their new fabrics – a collection of plains and textures in a colour palette that perfectly coordinates with their embroideries. Guests gathered in the stunning new showroom on Pimlico Road, designed by Studio Indigo, which now houses the complete Chelsea Textiles range under one roof.

Despite busy Design Week schedules and uncertain times, the event drew quite the crowd of industry leaders. In attendance were Kit Kemp, Jane Churchill and Colefax & Fowler's Wendy Nicholls who were able to view Chelsea Textiles's new range of fabrics which include silk, velvet, bombazine, wool, chenille and linen all in exquisite tones that the company is known for.

The new showroom, which is situated in the heart of the Pimlico Road Design District, London’s premier destination for interior design, art, antiques and fine furniture, has two spacious floors with fabrics on the ground floor and our collection of hand crafted furniture on the lower ground.

After 25 years on Walton Street we are excited to enter a new era for the company and are thrilled to do that as a member of the Pimlico Design District family.
