Writing desk with drawer

Hand-made and hand-painted, this desk is an original Chelsea Textiles design based on 18th Century Gustavian furniture. It features corner wheat carvings and a  frieze drawer supported by fluted square tapered legs.

The first desks are believed to have been designed for ecclesiastical use and for hundreds of years were implied to also be portable. Eventually, these pieces used to write on grew feet, and had larger shelvings added for storing items. Nowadays it is hard to think of a home without it.
This item has the option to be made in a bespoke size.

Made with sustainable sourced teak wood.
