Renishaw Renowned. For 400 years the seat of the Sitwell family, Renishaw Hall is immortalised in the writings of siblings Osbert, Edith and Sacheverell.
Page 93: Known as the 'Indian bed', Lady Sitwell's ornate four-poster is arrayed with an elaborate set of lacquered floral imagery. It was most likely acquired in the late 18th century by Sitwell Sitwell.
Featured here covered in a hand quilted bedcover in Chelsea Textiles' 'Damson & crabapples' hand embroidered sprig and border fabric.
