KIT KEMP COLLECTION USA LAUNCH PARTY

Hot on the heels of launching the new Kit Kemp fabric collection in London, Chelsea Textiles hosted an exclusive party in New York at the wonderful Crosby Hotel. The hotel is part of the Firmdale Group, owned and designed by Kit and her husband, so it was a very fitting location to launch the collection in the USA.

Chelsea Textiles founder, Mona Perlhagen hosted the cocktail party which took place in the Crosby Hotel’s drawing room and guests made the most of the leafy courtyard garden, which the drawing room opens on to. Guests included magazine editor-in-chiefs and loyal customers and suppliers whom Chelsea Textiles have known for many years. Everyone enjoyed delicious canapés and refreshing cocktails, whilst being able to view exquisite pieces from the new collection which was designed in collaboration with Kit Kemp and Chelsea Textiles’ Design Director, Jenny Simpson.

KIT KEMP COLLECTION UK LAUNCH PARTY

Chelsea Textiles celebrated the official launch of the Kit Kemp fabric collection at the exclusive Covent Garden Hotel in central London. Kit Kemp and Mona Perlhagen welcomed guests to the wonderful drawing room upstairs in the hotel where guests enjoyed cocktails and delicious canapés. Pieces from the exquisite collection including cushions, bedspreads and upholstered furniture were on display enabling guests to fully appreciate the intricate and imaginative fabric designs. The collection, which was designed in collaboration with Kit Kemp and Chelsea Textiles’ Design Director, Jenny Simpson, is inspired by Kit’s love of the whimsical and lyrical, and her love of animals, both real and imaginary.

CHELSEA TEXTILES LAUNCHES KIT KEMP COLLECTION

Chelsea Textiles launches an exquisite, hand-embroidered fabric collection, designed in collaboration with Kit Kemp, Design Director of Firmdale Hotels. The collection, Kit Kemp for Chelsea Textiles, is inspired by Kit’s love of the whimsical and lyrical, and her love of animals, both real and imaginary. Featuring a series of characters and patterns that have a primitive, almost folkloric feel, the collection shows a series of narratives that playfully unfold on the fabric, from a star gazing dog and a sailor’s farewell to mythical creatures and a modern take on a Suzani.
“I’ve always cherished embroidery, as an art form as well as a constant source of inspiration for the fabrics I use to decorate the rooms in my hotels. There is something timeless and precious about embroidery, it demands to be treasured. To sit on the floor surrounded by beautiful fabrics is where I always love to be.” says Kit Kemp.

CHELSEA TEXTILES RETURNS TO THE 1950s FILM SETS

At Maison & Objet 2012, Chelsea Textiles transported visitors to a 1950s era New York City film set as the company debuted its new range of Mid-Century inspired fabrics and furniture.
Chelsea Textiles launched three stunning new contemporary fabric designs – Draper, Axel and 1953 – all screen printed on 100% linen. The fabrics complement the new line of hand carved and hand painted solid wood furniture pieces, which feature wood and bamboo handles and brass finishes. The clean lines and subtle, muted colours balance perfectly with today’s pared down, contemporary interiors.
