fabrics
Chelsea Textiles was initially formed in 1990 as a response to the increasing scarcity of fabrics of the 17th and 18th centuries. The company set out to faithfully recreate rare antique designs of the Queen Anne, William and Mary and Louis 16th periods, sourced through extensive research into French and English archives. The company prides itself on using only authentic materials, hand-worked by master craftsmen into unique pieces which will stand the test of time, to become antique textiles for future generations.
Over the past thirty years, the company have not simply stayed rooted in their original mission, but they have extended their view of ‘antique’ to encompass vintage designs of the first half of the twentieth century in their fabrics collection. Their wide range, which includes collaborations with well known designer such as Robert Kime, Alidad, Neisha Crosland, Kit Kemp and Domenica More Gordon, is all produced by hand with Chelsea Textiles’ meticulous attention to detail and can sit equally comfortably within traditional and contemporary interiors.
